When did you attend York College and what was your major?

I was at York fall 2007-spring 2011 and I was a professional writing major.

When were you published in The York Review? Why did you submit?

I was published my senior year because I’d been writing creatively for enjoyment but never for a public audience, so I finally got up my courage to share my work since I had such a great support system at the time.

What did you think you would be doing at this time when you were still in college?

I had originally gone to York thinking I would be an editor with my professional writing degree, but I fell in love with the teaching & tutoring class, and my time working at the Learning Resource Center and encouragement from professors led me to apply to grad school and get my master’s degree in Rhetoric & Composition.

What have you been doing since you graduated?

I’m an instructor for the Department of Writing & Rhetoric at the University of Central Florida where I teach first-year composition classes and work with Stylus, which is our journal that publishes first-year student writing.
