Revive the Archive: Jess Velarde’s “On Ending” (2014)

Let me live forever
inside your world
imagined by so many
in infinite varieties of dreaming.

Let me stay with them.
These dear nonexistent friends
better known even that
the closest of tangible souls.

Let me revel longer
in these tame domestic comforts
or be wrapped in anxious ecstasy
at turning of your plot.

But you are irreversibly bound
by a blank leaf & forced
against all my pleading
to end.
