Leaves of Bamboo

When you’re outside, it’s like you’re transported into another world. All of the beautiful sights and sounds, and you come across that one specific beautiful thing that sticks out above the rest. You look at it for a while and just soak it in. Bamboo trees have always been my favorite, the textures, its unique leaf structure, and the rich green color of the whole plant. If you imagine it in black and white, you can also see its richness in value from black, to gray, to white. I give you “Leaves of Bamboo.”

Rayann Gotwalt

I am Rayann Gotwalt, but I go by Ray! I love all things art, reading, writing and music! I have loved all things creative since I could pick up a pencil, and haven’t stopped since. I have always wanted to be a professional artist and put my work in gallery exhibitions. I went to York County School of Technology and studied Commercial and Advertising Art, it was the most wonderful experience! I got to work with so many new mediums I never got to try before, such as; pastels, charcoal, ink based art, and even paint pouring! I knew I wanted to come to YCP since I was in 6th grade, and I’m glad I made that decision so early. I absolutely love it here and our art major is extremely productive and fun! I am living my dreams like my grandfather wanted me to, and I hope I am making him proud! Here’s to more years of artwork ahead of me.
