00:21

00:30
Hello, my
00:31
name is Gia Levis. I am a Hospitality and Tourism Management major here at your college. And I'm going to be answering some questions on this podcast today.
00:42
Yes, thank you for joining us, Jia. So what is a fun fact about yourself?
00:46
So I actually went skydiving when I was 18. It was really, really fun. I recommend it to anyone who's questioning it. Or if even if you're not, it's just a fun experience.
00:55
So that's actually really cool. Now I might have to try it. Yeah, you should. It's a
00:59
really good time. Honestly, they push you right out of the airplane, you really don't even have time to think about it. And then you're just soaring and it's a good time.
01:07
Well, then maybe that's perfect for me if I don't if you think who Yeah, maybe
01:10
I could just you won't I highly recommend.
01:12
So we're wondering so what what is your go to Starbucks order.
01:16
Every time I go to Starbucks, I'm kind of boring. I just get a plain iced chai?
01:20
No, I'm very boring. Yes, the same order every single time. It's so
01:24
good. Like, it doesn't need to have all these extra things in it all these extra syrups and whatnot. I'm a simple girl. And I love it every single time. It's just as good.
01:32
Sometimes you just got to stick for what's good. Exactly. So what character would you be in a horror movie?
01:39
Great question. I'm not a big horror movie person. But I would say in general, I think I would try to take charge and find a way to get us out of whatever situation we're in, kind of like survival instinct, instinct situation, jump in and be like, Okay, let's make a plan. Let's try to figure out, I say that. But then I also think that I would just be the person to run and hide and probably abandon everyone else. Just get out of there as fast as possible. And I probably just die, so I don't know.
02:10
Yeah. Hopefully we won't ever have to find out.
02:12
I hope so. I would love to find out.
02:16
And so Friday, the 13th is coming up. How do you feel about that?
02:19
kind of excited that it falls in October? Like how fun that we get Friday 13th in October this year. It is really cool. I'm excited. Well, thank
02:29
you for joining us and answering a few questions. Thank you.
02:33
This was super fun.
02:34
Nyla Bell psychology major.
02:37
So what is your favorite fall Starbucks during?
02:40
So I liked the iced chai pumpkin latte? It's really good. I like it better than pumpkin spice thing.
02:51
Okay, I might have to try that. That sounds really good. What character do you think it would be in a horror film?
02:59
Honestly, if I wouldn't be really honest, I would probably be the killer. Because like, I like sometimes I have anger issues, but I also like picture myself as being the person that's just like, honestly get out of my face. Like your dad, your your God. Understand. See you on the other side, you know?
03:19
And so next Friday is Friday the 13th Yes. How do you feel about that? Do you think it's gonna be crazy, like you feel like it to prepare at all.
03:27
So I'm excited. I'm definitely gonna post a lot of stuff on that day. I just changed actually, it's really funny that you guys totally asked me to do this, because I just changed my lockscreen on my home screen to Halloween stuff this morning. Because I was like, Yes, we have to get into the vibes. So like, I'm really excited. I'm probably gonna, like, put on makeup and like dress up and, you know, get into the theme and get to the vibe.
03:53

03:58

04:50
I don't know. And what is your go to Starbucks order.
04:55

Nice. And we were talking earlier and you said you love scary movies. So what is your go to scary movie?
05:35
My go to scary movie? Well, I usually like the TV show more, because it's longer. I think I like the haunting of Bly Manor. And the other one I forget what the other ones called. But like there's like a connection or something like, yeah, I love those two. When it becomes like, you know, October I like watching it, like a comfort show.
06:00
Yeah.
06:02
And what is your favorite thing about fall?
06:04
I think I like when the leaves change because I'm not used to it. I'm not from here. I'm from the Philippines. So I'm more used to like rainy season and dry season. I don't really have like winter or snow. So when the leaves change. It's very interesting to me, because I don't often see that.
06:25
Well, thanks for coming on this episode of the podcast.
06:28
Anytime. Hi, my
06:30
name is Eddie Lin. And I'm a forensic chemistry major. Thank you for joining us for this episode, Eddie. So what is your go to Starbucks a letter might go to Starbucks or it would be a nice, sounds good. And what is your favorite thing about fall? My favorite thing about fall? Visiting pumpkin patches and then like carving them later. Oh, nice. Hot chocolate. Definitely. And then lastly, everybody's wondering next Friday is Friday the 13th. So how are you feeling about that? Do you think it's gonna be scary? Spooky. Maybe a little crazy. I don't think it'll be anything out of the ordinary. Just a normal Friday. Yeah. Cool. Well, thanks for sitting down and chatting with us for
07:18
a little bit.
07:20
Hi, everyone. I'm
07:21
Naomi Mathias. My major is cybersecurity and as be answering some questions for the podcast today.
07:27
Thanks for sitting down with us. So the first question I'm asking is, do you prefer pumpkin or apple pie?
07:34
Pumpkin pie, especially
07:35
with the Cool Whip? Oh, two bit too good.
07:39
I love that. What is your Halloween costume this year?
07:42
I'm going to be Roxanne from the Goofy Movie. Oh,
07:45
perfect. That's a good one. Yeah, I just picked it out by accident. I love how that works out though. It's like, and then what character would you be in horror?
07:57
I think it'd be the dumb one. The dumb one.
07:59
Yeah, the dumb things
08:02
and just dies the first. That was my answer.
08:05
That's like literally who I'd be. I have no logic when it comes to scary. Well, thanks for sitting down and chatting with us. Thanks for having me. On Cory Wallen. My major is neuro psychology. So what is your favorite fall Starbucks drink favorite for
08:24
Starbucks drink? It's gonna have to be the I'm gonna go with the pumpkin coat cream cold brew.
08:33
Nice. That sounds good. What character do you think you'd be in a horror film? Hell.
08:40
I'm gonna be Chucky. I'm pretty sure. Okay, interesting.
08:46
It's first time we've gotten that answer. And lastly next
08:54
doesn't let me get the
08:55
question out and then. Okay, so, is it what is happening right now? Like, are we recording? Okay, so next Friday is Friday the 13th How do you feel about that? Do you think it's gonna be crazy? Are you preparing at all?
09:10
I mean, not as crazy as 2016 Hi, my name is Chanel. And I work at Starbucks. Thanks for coming over to talk to us.
09:22
Of course our first question is what is your go to Starbucks order?
09:27
I like the sunset drink. It's one of my personal favorites that I make myself it's a mango dragon fruit refresher. A with water and passionate tea based on top.
09:37
That sounds really good. Yeah, so when people ask for recommendation and you're working you're like, This is what you should get.
09:43
This is the one nice if you want a sweet you know for some classic in there, but my go to is something
09:52
and what character do you think you'd be in a horror movie?
09:56
Um,
09:57
I'm the person that's like hiding, you know? I'm never gonna get caught. Well, I might if I sneeze, cough, laugh a bit too hard, but that would be like the
10:08
floorboard. You know, you might find me underneath something hiding under the bed. Oh, this stupid person. Yeah, that's me.
10:19
And then our last question for you is do you prefer hot chocolate? Or Pumpkin Spice Latte? Hot chocolate. Oh, yeah, here, chocolate. Thanks for coming down chatting with us.
10:34
Thank you. Nice to meet you guys.
10:36
Hi, my name is Jordan and I'm a senior nursing major here at York.
10:43
Thank you for coming to talk to us, Jordan. So my first question is, what is your favorite thing about fall?
10:48
Um, I would say the leaves changing and it's not as hot out anymore. And my birthday is in the fall. So yeah,
10:57
I think that's a big bonus. Yeah. What is your favorite fall Starbucks drink? Because I know you love start.
11:04
I either get the pumpkin cream cold brew or the salted caramel cream cold brew. It depends on the day. What what did you just order? Neither of those. Got an iced latte instead. Nice.
11:20
I love that.
11:21
And next Friday is Friday the 13th How do you feel about that? I think it's gonna be crazy.
11:28
I think it's gonna be a normal day. I think I'll forget about it until later that day and realize. I don't know. We'll see though. Well, thanks for sitting down to chat.
11:41
Hi, my name is Hayley. I'm a medical laboratory science major and I'm a junior.
11:46
So do you prefer pumpkin or apple pie?
11:49
Pumpkin pie for sure. Apple pie is a weird texture thing for me. Tastes good, but I don't want to eat it. Okay,
11:54
so pumpkin pie all the way. Of course. What is your go to Starbucks drink?
11:58
I always go for the refreshers. I'm not a coffee person, which kind of slimmed down my options. But the refresher said every time I would agree.
12:07
And then finally, how do you feel about Friday the 13th theme next week.
12:12
unpopular opinion. I love Friday the 13th That's a lucky day for me. I'm a little spooky, and also a little kooky. And I love Friday the 13th
12:19
Are you planning anything fun for the day? Just?
12:22
I don't know. I'm just like starting the day takes you? Yeah, usually it's good. But I mean, we'll say
12:28
Well, thanks for talking to us,
12:30
of course. Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm a history major. So for my character in the horror movie, I will be the person to like make it out be like the last one standing. And honestly, that's just because I'm super paranoid already. So I would definitely like be all prepared for anything. Because it's what I think about 24/7
12:52
for two Starbucks during
12:55
that's a hard border. I would probably say recently and Iced Caramel Macchiato is my favorite. I just need the caffeine to get through the day anymore. Honestly. And probably like there were freshers too, or like one of my favorites. And then fall drink will probably be just the pumpkin Colbert right now is probably my favorite. And then your favorite horror movie. The Conjuring 100% is my favorite horror movie.
13:19
I've rewatched this producer Gracie can't see it because there's no video but she agrees it is
13:25
literally like, I could just break it down. It's just the best horror movie. And it's just so disappointing because horror movies now are just like not as good as they used to be like the conjuring it's just the anticipation and the build up like you don't even see who like, I guess the villain is like for the first I would say like 30 to 40 minutes of the movie. And then like when you finally do see it, it's like, oh my God, that's crazy. I'd like rewatch something.
13:53
I guess I'll have to watch it now. I'm not going to ever watch No, not big and like horror movies. But knowing me it sounds really good. It's really
13:59
good. But all the other conjuring movies. I didn't mind the second one but then after that just kind of like your typical like super loud, young scared and it's like,
14:08
I feel like you have to stick to the original sometimes. Yeah.
14:12
I get tired of like when they do sequels, like unless it's like really good, which I have yet to like watch a horror movie with a good sequel. The nun Yeah, I do like the nones like, I haven't seen the second one that just came out. Is it good? I haven't watched it. I rewatched the first one recently. And I'm just like, I don't know. I don't know how I feel about it. I'm just kind of, I don't know, I guess the conjuring for that like whole cinematic universe is like probably my favorite in terms of scary but the nuns pretty good. Yeah.
14:46
Well, thanks for sitting down and talking with Yeah, being on the podcast, of course.
14:51
Hello. I'm Sydney. I'm
14:52
a Senior Nursing Major.
14:55
Thanks for coming and chatting with us. Our first question is, what is your favorite false Starbucks drink.
15:01
I probably say a hot, like snickerdoodle latte. I think that yeah, snickerdoodles really good. Yeah. Very good cookies. Yeah. Yeah.
15:11
Yeah, that's a good recommendation. Yeah.
15:13
What character? Do you think you would be in a horror movie?
15:17
I'd probably be the one getting killed. I feel like yeah, I feel like I'd be the one who had to like miss out on all the signs and just sleep.
15:27
And then,
15:28
I don't know if you know, but next Friday is Friday the 13th I'm wondering, do you think it's gonna be crazy spooky?
15:34
Oh, yeah, horrible day. very spooky. It's getting very spooky. Especially in October. Yeah, you feel like you have to prepare it all for? No, I feel like the only thing I have to do is like, make a tattoo appointment for like a Friday the 13th tattoo. Oh, yeah, absolutely.
15:47
Well, thanks for sitting down.
15:48
And yeah,
15:49
thanks for talking to me.
15:50
My name is Mike Surbhi. And I teach in the communication and writing department at your college of Pennsylvania.
15:55
Well, thanks for coming over and sitting down to be on the podcast. So what is your favorite thing about ball?
16:01
My favorite thing about ball is the lack of humidity and the lack of insects and the falling temperatures? Yes, I think all three of those features tie for first. So that makes that makes fall my absolute most favorite season of the year, especially in this area fall in the mid atlantic because it's really something to behold.
16:23
And what character do you think you would be in a horror movie?
16:28
I would love to be in a horror movie that complicates the genre, in a way since horror movies tend to be somewhat stereotypical. So my thinking is that what could we do to like have a character and a horror movie who might be morally complicated or morally ambiguous? And maybe the actions that this character is performing might actually serve some greater good? doubtful, perhaps, but interesting to think about? Perfect. I
16:55
love that answer. And how do you feel about next Friday being Friday? 30? Do you think the day is going to be weird or just a normal Friday?
17:04
Well, considering that we've recently had a Friday the 13th that resulted in the pandemic. So you can never you can never count it out. Right. So you'll I think we always want it to just be another day, but sometimes it's not. And I guess that keeps life interesting.
17:23
keeps it exciting. Well, thanks for sitting down to talk to
17:26
us. I'm Liz Dawson. I'm a creative writing professor at you're so what
17:33
character do you think you would be in a horror movie?
17:38
I think I would be the one trying to save everybody else. And then the end I die.
17:47
Well, teams petite. What is your go to Starbucks?
17:54
Like go to Starbucks order is kind of boring. It's an Americano, oat milk and a little bit of sugar free vanilla.
18:04
That sounds good. And if you didn't know next Friday is Friday the 13th. So what are your feelings about that?
18:12
I love Friday, the 13th. Especially because it's often flashed had two days. We were just talking about that. So I will probably be doing that.
18:22
Nice. I like that. That's a good way to spend the day. Yes. Well, thanks for sitting down and talking with.
18:29
Great. I'm Giuliana Orkin. I am the coordinator of Jewish student life here at your college and a recent YCP graduates.
18:38
So what is your favorite thing about fall?
18:41
I love seeing the leaves change and being able to walk around in reasonably temperate weather.
18:50
That's my favorite thing to do. I love like, what is your favorite fall Starbucks drink?
18:57
I'm loving the pumpkin cream chai tea latte this season.
19:03
I've heard a lot of people say that to maybe now have to try it.
19:07
I recommend it's a really it's a wonderful drink with like, incredible flavors and pumpkin. Kind of
19:14
nice. And what character do you think you'd be in a horror movie?
19:18
Oh, boy. I'd like to think I'd be the logical one. But I think that everybody else would say that like I would kind of be the one hiding in the back.
19:29
And hopefully we don't have to find out.
19:31
I know. Right? I would. I would hope so.
19:34
Well, thanks for sitting down and chatting with
19:36
us. Of course.
19:38
Thanks for having me.
19:39
Hi, my name is Lauren and I am a professional writing major here at YCP.
19:44
Thanks for sitting down to talk to us Lauren. So what is your favorite horror movie?
19:50
Oh, I think I don't really know if this one constitutes as a horror movie but Jordan peels nope was really really good and I I might have to rewatch that again this Halloween. Like it was it was really good.
20:06
And since we're at Starbucks, what is your go to Starbucks order?
20:10
And iced chai tea latte with either two or three pumps of vanilla depending on what size I get nice.
20:17
And how do you feel about Friday the 13th coming up? Like prepared or anything? I don't know. I feel like every
20:25
other Friday the 13th I've experienced I've had to deal with just run of the mill nonsense that I would have to, like, adjust my day around. Yeah. Like, it's, I'm looking forward to it. Because I could do with a little drama. But I'm just for that day, and then I'll be good.
20:45
Cool. Well, thanks for sitting down and talking.
20:48
Thank you for having me.
20:50
Hey, there. I'm Jade and I'm a cybersecurity major at YCP.
20:55
So what character do you think you would be in a horror movie?
21:00
Like, what's the basis on it? Like you did over here? Good so far, one of the people who get chased by them?
21:08
Yeah. So do you think you'd be the one like, hiding? Do you think you'd be coming up with a solution? I like my An example is my answer was I said, I'd probably be the one that would like laugh too loudly and, like, be dead.
21:23
You don't want to just come to a solution. Like, like, you always, you know, one more horror movie with a dog or wandering around. I would just be the one to just throw them in the fire. And if they're still alive, I told them back into that fire.
21:39
What is your go to Starbucks order?
21:42
varies, but I like the Mocha cookie crumble right now.
21:46
It looks really good. Yeah. And how do you feel about Friday the 13th being this one.
21:52
I'm seeing the movies by worried about it. And it's alright. I know. It's my brother's birthday too. So that's exciting.
22:00
Well, thanks for chatting with us. Have a good day. All right, so now that we've interviewed everybody else, we're gonna give you our answers. So jenaya What is your favorite fall Starbucks?
22:12
I say my favorite for Starbucks drink would have to be the pumpkin cream chai tea latte. Chai lattes are my go to but we get to fall to get that little pumpkin to it. But what's yours?
22:24
Well, so I would say my go to Starbucks order. I keep it plain and basic. I get it every time. It's an iced latte with almond milk. I know guys. Sorry. Nothing exciting over here. But what character would you be in a horror movie?
22:39
I'm pretty sure I'm either the one that dies first. Or the one that says that surprisingly, survives the end. But conceptually, it makes no sense. Like they should have died 10 minutes into the film. But for some reason, the plot armor kept them alive for good, like, hour and a half.
22:57
You see, I would like to think I'd make it out alive. Um, but I don't know. I feel like I'd be the one that would be dead first. I'd probably lock myself in a room and try to hide somewhere. But I'm hoping I never have to find out.
23:14
I think I think if I have to say it the way I finally left I was saying Being without a whole entire horror film have like a whole pot around. It. won't be that bad when we got past. Alright, wait until wait. Pumpkin pie or apple pie?
23:26
I'll have to go apple pie.
23:28
I'm one scoop of ice cream. Oh, I think that's the traditional and I can't say no to traditional pie is. I'm here for it. And I'm one of those same folks. But you do think that you will to survive by the 13th?
23:44
I think so. I mean, I've never really thought about it until we started doing this podcast. And now I'm like, I'm curious to see how the day goes. Is it going to be normal? Is it going to be is something going to happen in about a day and I'm like, Yep, it's Friday 13th
23:59
Well, this is not a full moon on fire. will not have done like I've taken time. No one will see me for the day. But it's weird. October. It is we have we have Friday 13th And then like two weeks afterwards we have Halloween. Yeah, I think it's time for the spookiest of seasons
24:15
do you think you're gonna survive?
24:17
I'm I think I'm I have to try the concept what you do for snow snow days wear my socks on backwards from cameras inside out.
24:23
I heard flushing ice cubes down the toilet to I was when they told me in school.
24:28
I didn't learn them all. I had to Google Ads make a list of how to survive. Well, let me know. Let me know. I certainly will. Alright, so our next episode is talking about how to stay safe when going out anywhere. And that will be on October 27. Thank you guys for listening to the restaurant caucus.
24:44
And thank you to everyone who sat down and talk to us in Starbucks.
24:56
My name is Braden Yerges, and I'll be reading an excerpt from a piece let's talk horses. A Barbie review now featured on the York review website. I'll be the first to admit I've never played with a Barbie going up. She's never piqued my interest much referring a GI Joe or a WWE action figure. I have a strong feeling that director Greta Gerwig Francis Hall ladybird much referred the former, but I can hardly imagine she played with them and its traditional sense. There's not a single aspect of this film that isn't bold. It is colorful. It is spectacular. The dialogue is fluid and engaging. The music, although its timing may seem sporadic at certain points, is totally perfect and certainly doesn't detract from the very real emotions and hard discussions guiding this adventurous taking on the coming of age story. By paralleling one of the most transcendental opening scenes in cinema history, stresses also sprogs art just to anybody. Gerwig sets her timeless intentions early. This is not a film about now, this is not film about the past. This is a film that lies beyond the realm of time unfortunate some rather serious philosophical questions like what is it that Barbie really is doing between the time we pick her up inside and put her down outside instead of walking her down the stairs and out the door? Maybe if date and time are needed to understand this film, it can be those few moments between Living out our lives and living with ourselves calling Barbies world a utopia simply because she doesn't have to walk down the stairs maybe a bit of an over exaggeration. That is in fact the very real world she lives in.
