Warning: Do not press play if triggered by Cool Ranch Doritos. I’m kidding. You’ll definitely want to press play.

On this episode, co-hosts Steph Jackman and Chantel Vereen keep it real once again when senior professional writing major Ryan Emmert, one of Rough Draft podcast’s original hosts, jumps into the interview seat. He discusses everything from where he finds his inspiration to whether he prefers Starbucks or Maxwell coffee (he sticks to “crappy, jet-fueled” home-made coffee, but he’d go for Starbucks if he was less broke).

Ryan showcases his writing talent with a reading of one of his poems recently published in The York Review, “Who am I become.” You’ll find out that not only does he write kick-ass poetry and fiction, he’s also a pretty fine musician.

Chantel and Stephanie also introduce an awesome new segment in this episode, called “Is that weird?” The general consensus? If you’ve got to ask, it’s probably weird.

Finally, Ryan leaves us with some blue-ribbon advice: Go do stuff today. But not until you listen to this bangin’ podcast.

Steph and Chantel welcome back Ryan Emmert to the Rough Draft Podcast. He reads poetry, they talk about this or that, and decide what is weird and what is not. Also, Chantel reveals her previous struggles with hard cider.
