Rough Draft x Explorative Learning Association
Ryan Emmert hops in the interview seat one more time to speak with Founder and CEO of the Explorative Learning Association, Maurice White. He is a man with a vision, and friends who support that vision. A natural born leader, a notoriously kind heart, Maurice White shares his vision with the York Review to help spread the word — if you’re a motivated individual with new ideas, energy, passion, and a need for creative nourishment, ELA is the group you’ve been looking for.
Or perhaps, you hear the tone of Maurice’s voice and it sounds like your own — you have your own new ideas, your own leadership and motivation. Perhaps you’re very successful, and all your friends are killing it too… ELA is still the group you’ve been looking for. They are here to encourage the growth mindset, the quid pro quo of humans being, the revival of the community, blood pumping through every creative vein.
But seriously, get out there and do something. That’s exactly what Maurice decided to do one day, and his dream is becoming a reality. Many friends have accompanied him on this mission: Umbar Kassa, Iyasu Watts, Stephen Keels, Jhalin Anderson, Siani Widman — among others. Together, they formed the Explorative Learning Association and began holding enlightening discussions, offering a kind of therapeutic service, and providing a flexible learning environment that extends through various educational fields. It is a noble pursuit, to say the least.
As we conclude in the interview, it’s compelling to sit and talk about things that we know will never have a right answer. (At least we believe it the more we say it.) All that matters — don’t let that Library of Alexandria of ideas in your mind come crashing down. Preserve it. Come out to one of the Explorative Learning Associations meetings, held every Friday in Humanities 145 at 7pm. You just might surprise yourself.
