The Real Reason Why I Crashed in the Creek

I did not think people were speculating and rumoring as to why someone crashed in the creek. I have heard from a good source that I sit next to, that people were saying that someone crashed in the creek just because they wanted to. They are saying it’s the person's fault as to crashing in the creek.

I am here to dispel all the rumors as to what happened with The Creek Incident and to finally get over this embarrassment.

Hi, My name is Khiara and I am the person that crashed my car in the creek last year. I will simply break down what happened in detail. SO LISTEN UP!

First off, I did not crash in the creek because I was bored or just to stir up trouble on campus. I think logically as a human being like myself, I am not thinking, “Hey, let me crash my car in the creek for shits and giggles”. I crashed in the creek because my car was dog shit. My dad knew Buick’s is not a good car brand and he got me it anyway. Now we know from this incident that Buicks are dogwater.

I was leaving Publication Management I believe, which is in the Humanities building. I was parked in front of the creek. I get into my car and put my car in reverse. As I am looking back to see my surroundings, I briefly see two kids walk very closely in front of my car. I know cars lurch forward when going in reverse sometimes; so my anxious ass slams on the brakes. The kids laugh and wave me off indicating that I wasn’t going to hit them. I don’t want to pay someone’s hospital bills if I hit a kid. I was glad they were okay but what happened to me next was not okay for me.

I AM STILL IN REVERSE AT THIS POINT, I DID NOT MOVE MY GEAR INTO DRIVE. But after the kids move from in front of my car, I continue to try to back up. But my car decides to move forward. I know that side of the parking lot is on a slight hill but my car should not be moving forward while in reverse. I am putting my foot on the brakes to stop it from moving forward but it does not work. My car goes over the parking stump. I am frantically trying to stop my car by slamming on the brakes but it does not stop to no avail. I crash into the creek. I slam hard as fuck into the creek and I hit my head on something. I am in shock, I don’t know what to do. My car door opened and it was the two kids I thought I was going to hit. They help me out of the car and some other guy approaches the wreck and calls Campus Police for me. I am full of adrenaline, I don’t even feel anything but panic and what the fuck I am suppose to do. I call up my insurance and talk to them but the embarrassment starts to form when I see many students walking by and stopping to marvel at this wreck. The Campus Police were so nice to me and let me sit inside their car until my dad arrived. I was crying because I felt so stupid and thought at that moment that I should have done something to stop my car. But I am not Superman.

Secondly, my brakes failed and I could not do anything to stop it. My sister asked me after the wreck, “Why did I not jump out?”. Honestly I feel like if I jumped out then I would have tumbled into the creek and broke something in my body. I really would have needed to go to the hospital (WHICH I CAN NOT AFFORD). My dad was glad I was okay and not dead or injured badly. But he was mad that I crashed the car because he recently got the car inspected and got new tires. Tires are not cheap y’all.

But after the crash, my family and I speculated why that happened when my brakes gave out when we just got an inspection done on the car. The dealership told us that the car was fine but why the hell did I end up in the creek? I really wanted to pull up at the dealership and fight them but my family and I are not dealing with the nonsense and have moved on. I had a concussion the next day and was out of tears the entire day. My family was glad I was okay. I didn’t have a car for the whole month of October. I could not even enjoy Spooky Season properly.

But today, I have a Red Chrysler Sebring and I avoid parking near the creek.
